Which one is yours?
Body type influences how you respond to diet and training. Understand your body type in order to plan your muscle building training and diet program. Most people have a body type. These are:
- Ectomorph: Lean and long, with difficulty building muscle
- Endomorph: Big, high body fat, often pear-shaped, with a high tendency to store body fat
- Mesomorph: Muscular and well-built, with a high metabolism and responsive muscle cells
Ectomorph

- Shoulders are narrower than the hips
- Fitted jeans generally feel loose around the butt
- Forearms are on the smallish side
- Body tends to stay skinny by default
- Body looks long and narrow
- While gripping the wrist between thumb and middle finger, the 2 fingers overlap
- Trouble gaining weight – both in terms of muscle and fat
- The circumference of chest is 37 inches or less
Endomorph

- Shoulders are roughly the same width as the hips
- Fitted jeans generally feel snug, but not too tight, around the butt
- Forearms are moderately thick
- Body tends to stay lean, yet somewhat muscular, by default
- Body looks rugged and square in shape
- While gripping wrist between the thumb and middle finger, the 2 fingers just barely touch
- Can gain or lose weight without too many issues
- The circumference of the chest is between 37-44 inches
Mesomorph

- Shoulders are narrower than the hips
- Fitted jeans generally feel loose around the butt
- Forearms are on the smallish side
- Body tends to stay skinny by default
- Body looks long and narrow
- While gripping the wrist between thumb and middle finger, the 2 fingers overlap
- Trouble gaining weight – both in terms of muscle and fat
- The circumference of chest is 37 inches or less
